ABS Global, a
\ndivision of Genus plc (GNS:LSE), a global pioneer in animal genetics, today
\nannounces a joint venture with De-Su Holsteins,\u00a0<\/span>North America\u2019s leading independent breeder of high NM$
\n(net merit dollars) and TPI\u00ae<\/sup> (total performance index) Holstein
\nbulls<\/span>. The partnership,
\nwhich builds on years of effective collaboration between the organizations,
\nwill develop elite and differentiated Holstein genetics for ABS Global
\ncustomers around the world.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

The joint venture is named \u201cDe Novo Genetics\u201d to signal a
\nnew opportunity for the improvement of global Holstein genetics<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>The De Novo Genetics team will develop a joint breeding program
\nto combine the best genetics from both De-Su and ABS Global, focusing on the
\ncreation of elite and differentiated Holstein genetics to help increase
\ncustomer profitability through improved herd productivity, health and
\nefficiency.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nGenetics will harness the best Holstein genetics from both companies to create
\nthe genetic improvement that our customers need and want, faster than ever
\nbefore,\u201d said Saskia Korink, ABS Global COO. \u201cWe are delighted to be
\nstrengthening our long-standing partnership with De-Su and in turn to be
\nexpanding our customer offering.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

ABS Global and
\nDe-Su \u2013 a family operation based in New Albin, Iowa, U.S.A. \u2013 have worked
\ntogether for a number of years. Both organizations share a breeding philosophy
\nof building on traits of economic importance to customers.<\/span><\/p>\n
